All were designed using 3DS Max and Photoshop, and were made for the Hewlett Packard company.

The HP Chameleon is an idea that brings something new to the laptop concepts world. It features adaptive microcell coverage that imitates a chameleon’s skin in that it changes the color tones according to the surroundings. It can do that based on the 3 digital cameras that analyze the environment permanently.

HP Eco is the environmental-friendly model coming with the solar cell charging technology, a bar code reader that works with foods and a bloodpressure control bangle that can also read your pulse.

HP Fitness adopts the bangle idea from the previously described laptop concept and adds special functionalities that would be useful for people who like to keep in shape by jogging in their free time.

One of the coolest design concepts for girls is the full-pink HP Make-Up. It brings lots of nice tools for cosmetics, like a mirror mode for the display, which switches on as you press a dedicated button, as well as a make-up slot and a built-in printing device for your nails.

HP Mama is waterproof, shock-resistant and sports a special display with flexible support for best comfort qhile operating the computer. In addition, the laptop concept features 2 Bluetooth cameras that connect wirelessly to the laptop for Instant Messaging applications, an amplifier for tracking your kids remotely, and the bangle.

My favorite is HP Perfume, a laptop that changes to a lamp or air freshener automatically, allowing you to download fragrance samples and combine them.

HP Nobag is a rollable computer that you can carry inside any bag. It uses the OLED technology for the display, touch sensors and other amazing features.

Gitex 2006 - Asus – Gaming and mobility laptops

Over at ASUS we managed to get a first-look at its gaming laptops. The G2p is based around an ATI Mobility Radeon X1700 512MiB graphics card hooked up to a widescreen 17.1in display.

Sitting alongside was the NVIDIA variant, the G1. It's got a GeForce Go 7700 GPU powering the smaller 15.4in widescreen display. Both laptops are colour-coordinated according to the graphics within and are powered by Intel Core™2 Duo processors.

For extreme mobility, the Asus R2H features a 7in touch-sensitive WXGA LCD display surrounded by laser-cut flat buttons. Up the top is a 1.3MP web camera in the center, with a biometric fingerprint scanner on the left, for added security.

As if that wasn’t enough, the R2H is also packing a built-in GPS receiver on the underside.

Toshiba launches 3 laptops on the Qosmio AV Notebook line

Toshiba has announced 3 new laptops on the Qosmio F45 AV line, the codenames are F45-AV410, F45-AV411 and F45-AV413. All the new devices have use some technology in common, such as the Dolby Home Theater, the Intel Turbo Memory, and a SuperMulti DVD drive with Labelflash. Additionally, they have two Harman Kardon Bass Reflex stereo speakers and a built-in subwoofer by Dolby.

Other features on the new Toshiba laptops include an Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T5450 running at 1.66Ghz, 2GB of RAM with a maximum capacity for 4GB, and a nice hard-drive with 200GB. Like it happened with the previously described technologies, the monitors of each laptop are also the same for all: a 15.4-inch widescreen display using TruBrite technology.

The graphics card is powered by a Mobile Intel GMA X3100 and on the connectivity options there is the usual Wi-Fi. Some models have a built-in webcam and microphone, while others feature a fingerprint reader.

HP to debut bumper crop of new Pavilions and Presarios

HP has a whole lotta’ new laptops to launch, possibly at a press conference this Tuesday if Notebook Italia is on the money. The designations are a real mouthful, so brace yourself: in all, we could be looking at Pavilions numbered dv2600, d6600, dv9600, and tx1300, and new HP G7000 and HP G6000’s also coming in the form of Compaq Presario F700 and F500 models. There are a crazy amount of specs here, so it’s probably safe to say that there is a machine to suit your requirements. Screen sizes range from 12.1 inch with the tx1300 up to 17 inches with the dv9600, CPUs range from 1.6GHz Core Duos and 1.7GHz Athlons up to 2.2GHz Core 2 Duos.

Acer wants you to believe this is a multimedia machine but it only half-succeeds – the screen is great but the sound quality is rather poor. The plastic looks cheap in places but it’s thick and feels tough to the touch. What matters here is that performance is great for the price and on that level it certainly delivers. It has everything you need, such as Wi-Fi and a DVD rewriter, and will make a great first notebook - just don’t expect it to deliver more the basics.

Sony announces Penryn refresh for 2008 VAIO laptops

The AR60 Series gets the Core 2 Duo T8300 2.3GHz processor and a 4Gb RAM upgrade, and also comes with nVidia GeForce 8600GT graphics (with 512Mb of RAM) and Blu-ray. The VAIO FZ30 Series also gets a 4Gb RAM upgrade, along with a Core 2 Duo T8300 2.3GHz processor, while the SZ70 Series gets a nippier 2.5GHz T9300 chip inside its svelte 1.79kg carbon fibre frame. Finally, the CR30 Series gets a choice of the 2.1GHz T8100 or 2.4GHz T8300 chips.

The Penryn-based AR60/E is available now, with the rest of the AR60 Series and the other Penryn-based VAIO laptops to follow from 22 February.

Rock Xtreme 770 gaming laptop

The Xtreme 770 was our favourite desktop replacement laptop of 2007 and if you just looking at the pictures, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Rock has made very few changes to its flagship gaming laptop since. Looks can be deceiving though, as under the surface, Rock has been busy updating and upgrading almost all of the Xtreme 770’s components (including a new Penryn Core 2 Duo processor), adding a further £400 to its already considerable price.

And that’s precisely the feeling we had holding the Lenovo ThinkPad X300 for the first time. It weighs a feather-light 1.45kg, but includes a full-sized keyboard, a 13-inch widescreen and a built-in optical drive. It all seems so simple.

Once you start analysing though, you realise products like this could only appear in 2008. For the first time, technologies like solid-state-disks, low voltage processors and optical drives have reached a point they can be miniaturised – or, in the case of solid-state disks, mass produced – without making unbearable sacrifices
